Lucas Simons

Lucas Simons is afgestudeerd op Milieuhygiëne aan de Universiteit van Wageningen en heeft een MBA gedaan aan de Nimbas Graduate School of Management. Hij is momenteel directeur van NewForesight & ForeFinance. Voordat Simons NewForesight oprichtte in 2008, begon hij met Utz Certified. Deze organisatie is verantwoordelijk is voor het opzetten van certificatieprogramma's voor onder andere koffie, cacao, thee, palmolie en biogassen en systemen om deze te traceren. Daaraan voorafgaand werkte Lucas Simons bij KPMG en TNO.

Dit jaar werd Simons als enige Nederlander een van de tweehonderd Young Global Leaders van 2011, gekozen door het World Economic Forum.

Lucas Simons holds a MSc Environmental Hygiene degree from Wageningen University an an MBA degree from Nimbas Graduate School of Management. Simons is the Director of NewForesight & ForeFinance. NewForesight is a strategic consultancy firm committed to transform global agricultural markets into sustainable supply chains. Prior to founding NewForesight in 2008 Lucas started Utz Certified in 2002 and was Global Program Director till 2008, responsible for setting up the coffee, cocoa, tea, palm oil and biofuels certification programs and traceability systems. Between 1997 to 2002 Simons worked at KPMG and TNO.

This year, Simons became one of the two hundred Young Global Leaders 2011, proclaimed by World Economic Forum. His personal mission is to help build new concepts and new programs that inherently value sustainability and drive transformation towards sustainable markets in a mainstream way.
