Zijn onderzoek richt zich op hedendaagse politieke filosofie en focust in het bijzonder op wereldwijde gerechtigheid, armoede en milieu. Hij is de auteur van Justice Beyond Borders: A Global Political Theory (2005). Samen met Derek Bell is hij bezig aan een boek over Global Justice and Climate Change. Voor zijn werk heeft hij de ESRC Climate Change Leadership Fellowship gekregen om te werken aan gelijkheid en klimaatverandering.

Simon Caney is Professor of Political Theory at Oxford University. His research focusses on contemporary political philosophy en focusses in particular on global justice, poverty and environment. He is the author ofJustice Beyond Borders: A Global Political Theory (2005). Together with Derek Bell he is working on a book on global Justice and climate change. For his work he has been awarded the ESRC Climate Change Leadership Fellowship to work on equity and climate change.
