Roberto Bolli, MD, has been Chief of Cardiology at the University of Louisville since 1994. He serves as Vice Chairman for Research of the Department of Medicine, a Distinguished University Scholar, and the Jewish Hospital Distinguished Chair in Cardiology at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Bolli graduated from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 1976. He is or has been on the editorial board of all major cardiovascular journals and is presently the Editor in Chief of Circulation Research. He served on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians, and a Foreign Fellow of the Academy of Sciences of the Royal Society of Canada.

Dr. Bolli's honors include the 2001 Basic Research Prize of the American Heart Association, the 2004 Research Achievement Award of the international Society for Heart Research, the 2004 Lucian Award, and the 2008 Distinguished Scientist Award of the American Heart Association. He has delivered more than 270 lectures, has published more than 350 papers, and has an h-factor of 85.
