Daarnaast is Guldborg Hansen directeur van de ISSP (The Initiative of Science, Society & Policy) en lid van de Preventieraad van de Deense Diabetes Vereniging. In 2010 richtte hij het Deense Nudging Netwerk op waar hij ook voorzitter van is. Dit netwerk omvat meer dan 60 overheidsinstellingen, bedrijven, universiteiten en organisaties.

Hansen promoveerde aan de Universiteit van Roskilde op speltheoretische modelleren van sociale conventies en normen in 2010. Sindsdien werkt hij met nudge-interventies in verschillende bedrijven zoals de belastingdienst, orgaandonatie en het reguleren van straatafval. Hij publiceerde hierover in onder andere het International Review of Economics, The American Journal of Bioethics en het European Journal of Risk Regulation.

Zijn laatste boek Blind Angles of Enlightenment, wat hij samen met prof. V.F. Hendricks schreef, geeft kritiek op het huidige politieke en sociale denken door gebruik te maken van Social Software modellen om de onbedoelde consequenties, verborgen aspecten en valse terreinen van de onderliggende redenering te identificeren.

Hansens motivatie voor zijn onderzoek en werk is om te proberen burgers meer macht en daadkracht te geven en hun sociale verantwoordelijkheden te verleggen in een steeds complexere democratische maatschappij.

Pelle Guldborg Hansen, PhD, is a behavioural scientist at Roskilde University and the University of Southern Denmark. He is director of The Initiative of Science, Society & Policy (ISSP) and member of the Prevention Council of the Danish Diabetes Association. In 2010 Hansen established the Danish Nudging Network of which he is also the chairman. This network comprises more than 60 governmental institutions, municipalities, universities, organizations and businesses.

Hansen got his PhD at Roskilde University in game theoretical modeling of social conventions and norms in 2010. Since then he has been working with real world applications of behavioral economics, especially so-called 'nudge'-interventions, within a wide range of arenas: from bank-mobility and conformity to tax regulation over organ-donation and street littering to registration processes within Danish Business Authorities. He has published these aspects of his research in amongst other the International Review of Economics, The American Journal of Bioethicsand European Journal of Risk Regulation.

Hansen's last book Blind angles of Enlightenment, co-authored by prof. V.F. Hendricks, presents a profound criticism of contemporary political and social thinking by applying Social Software models to identify the unintended consequences, concealed aspects and false premises of the underlying reasoning.

The core motivation of Hansen's research and work is the attempt to empower citizens and re-focus their social responsibilities and behavior in an increasingly complex democratic society. To this end, he is deeply involved in the work of ISSP, and a member of two ISSP focus groups: Living Technology and SAiNT.
