Milota is associate professor of Narrative Medicine at the Julius Centre for Health Sciences and Primary Care at UMC Utrecht. She has been integrating narrative medicine into the (para)medical training programs in Utrecht since 2017. She is an ambassador of the Nieuwe Utrechtste School. This interdisciplinary platform was created by UMC Utrecht and Utrecht University to improve the integration of the humanities in health education, and facilitate creative approaches to the medical sciences. 

Milota studied English literature at the University of Antwerp. Prior, she studied international law in her home country, the USA.

Milota is universitair hoofddocent Narrative Medicine bij het Julius Centrum voor Gezondheidswetenschappen en Eerstelijnsgeneeskunde van het UMC Utrecht. Sinds 2017 integreert ze narrative medicine in de (para)medische opleidingen in Utrecht. Ze is ambassadeur van de Nieuwe Utrechtste School. Dit interdisciplinaire platform is opgericht door het UMC Utrecht en de Universiteit Utrecht om de integratie van de geesteswetenschappen in het gezondheidsonderwijs te verbeteren en creatieve benaderingen van de medische wetenschappen te faciliteren. 

Milota studeerde Engelse literatuur aan de Universiteit Antwerpen. Daarvoor studeerde ze internationaal recht in haar thuisland, de VS.
