Het doel van dit internationaal georiënteerde centrum is het promoten van biomedisch onderzoek, met name onderzoek gericht op genetica. Zijn laboratorium richt zich als een van de weinige op de moleculaire basis van epigenetische veranderingen tijdens de vroege fase van het ontstaan van tumoren. Prof. dr. Luciano di Croce promoveerde in 1996 aan de Universiteit van Rome en studeerde daarna aan de Universiteit van Marburg. In 2000 werd hij senior-onderzoeker aan het European Institute of Oncology in Milaan.

Prof. dr. Luciano di Croce gained a PhD in 1996 at the University of Rome and studied at the University of Marburg. In 2000 he became senior researcher at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan. Since 2003 he is ICREA Professor at the Centre de Regulacio Genomica (CRG) in Barcelona. The aim of this internationally oriented centre is to promote biomedical research, in particular research aimed at genetics. His laboratory aims as one of the few at the molecular base for epigenetic changes during the early phase of the emergence of tumors.
