In zijn onderzoek richt hij zich op de poëtische aspecten van de dierlijke natuur. Specifieker de intersecties tussen het dierlijke, de taal en representatie. Hij is betrokken bij het NWO-project Reading Zoos in the Age of the Anthropocene, waarin onderzocht wordt hoe de relatie tussen de mens en de natuur aan verandert in het Antropoceen.

Driscoll promoveerde aan de Columbia University in New York op zijn proefschrift Toward a Poetics of Animality: Hofmannsthal, Rilke, Pirandello, Kafka.

Hij vertaalde Löwen van Hans Blumenberg in het Engels en is tevens uitgever van What Is Zoopoetics? – Texts, Bodies, Entanglement.

Literary scholar Dr Kári Driscoll is Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at Utrecht University.

In his research he focusses on the poetics of animality, in particular the intersections between animality, language, and representation. He is currently involved in the NWO-project Reading Zoos in the Age of the Anthropocene, which explores how the relationship between humans and the natural world is changing in the age of climate change and mass extinction.
Driscoll holds a PhD from Columbia University in New York, with a dissertation entitled Toward a Poetics of Animality: Hofmannsthal, Rilke, Pirandello, Kafka.

He is the translator, most recently, of Lionsby Hans Blumenberg and the editor of What is Zoopoetics? – Texts, Bodies, Entanglement.
